What this record concludes

AUSTRAC VASP

Summary

Swyftx is a Brisbane-headquartered broker-style exchange operated by Swyftx Pty Ltd, which appears on AUSTRAC's virtual asset service provider register. Funding carries almost no friction: AUD bank transfers, PayID and Stripe card deposits are free, and bank transfers have no minimum. The cost sits in the order itself: a 0.6% base trading fee plus a spread that is built into the displayed price but not published as a figure. With a 0.50% spread estimate, A$1,000 into USDT costs about A$11.00, above CoinSpot Markets (A$2.50), OKX (A$8.00) and Kraken Pro (A$9.00). Its advantages are elsewhere: card purchases carry no deposit fee, and the same brand offers free NZD bank deposits in New Zealand.

Best suited to

  • Buyers who want PayID funding and a simple quote-based buy screen rather than an order book
  • Card buyers: Stripe card deposits carry no fee, so A$1,000 costs about A$11.00, below the CoinSpot and Kraken card routes
  • People who move money between Australia and New Zealand and want one brand on both sides

Watch out for

  • The spread is not published; 0.50% is this site's estimate, and the USDT amount on the confirmation screen is the number to compare
  • 0.6% applies below A$100,000 of 30-day volume; the 0.1% tier needs A$6 million or more
  • A swap is a sell plus a buy, each charged the trading fee, so 1.2% in total at the base tier
  • The fee page says card deposits may cost up to 2.4%, while the help centre states Stripe card deposits carry no surcharge; Banxa card deposits carry up to a 2.5% spread

Fees to separate before you pay: Funding is free on every route; the money goes on the order: a 0.6% trading fee plus the spread. With the spread estimated at 0.50%, all three funding routes come to about A$11.00 per A$1,000. The confirmation-screen quote decides what you pay far more than the funding method does.

Components marked published come from the first-party source linked on each route; the spread is our conservative estimate, not a measurement. The full working is printed so you can recompute it from the published inputs — if you get a different number we are wrong, so please tell us. Price movement, account tiers, card issuer charges and on-chain withdrawal fees are excluded. Where a route is confirmed but priced dynamically, no number is invented in its place.

Questions

Swyftx Australia: common questions

1Is Swyftx registered in Australia?

Swyftx is operated by Swyftx Pty Ltd (ABN 72 623 556 730), which appears on AUSTRAC's virtual asset service provider register. Its terms state it is registered with AUSTRAC in Australia and with the Department of Internal Affairs in New Zealand under AML/CTF law. It also holds AFSL 568543, but Swyftx states its spot crypto exchange services are not provided under that licence.

2What does A$1,000 into USDT cost on Swyftx?

About A$11.00, using the 0.6% base trading fee and a 0.50% spread estimate. Bank transfer, PayID and Stripe card deposits are all free, so the funding route does not change the figure. Swyftx does not publish its spread, so the confirmation-screen amount is the authoritative number.

3Does Swyftx still accept POLi?

No. POLi stopped operating in Australia at the end of September 2023, and Swyftx's help centre confirms POLi deposits are no longer available. AUD can be deposited by bank transfer, PayID or card.
